Santa Ynez
May 29th, 2009, 10:35pm
Visited Santa Ynez today after a meeting in SB. Arrived around 5:30 and fished until 8:00 pm. Water looks like it went up a tiny bit since the last time I was there (two weeks ago). I caught some decent smallies and a bunch of bluegill. I tried a yellow and orange popper that I made and the blue gill went nuts. Over all it was a great way to end the week.
By the way, I fished the first crossing and also behind the ranger station. When I arrived at the ranger station a man and a teenage boy were flyfishing  the deeper water. They might have caught some trout. I saw them reel in something. I ended up fishing in the reeds for bluegill near the parking area. I caught a female who was ready to pop. She was the most pregnant fish I have ever http://www.sbflyfishers.com/yabbfiles/Templates/Forum/default/cheesy.gifseen.
