Macs Are Around the Sand Spit
Jan 16th, 2011, 10:09pm

I met up with Danny, who came to the club meeting on Tuesday night, and two friends from Bakersfield, Rocky and Brian. We started at the Cliff House. Little Rincon had huge waves. Moved up to Santa Clause and it was smaller surf but we could not find fish. We moved up to the Harbor and Rocky got into a Mac attack. The rest of us could not buy a fish.

This was Danny's first day of fly fishing ever.  After about one half hour of lessons he was on it. I think he will become a proficient fly fisher soon.

Got a few pics:

Danny, I am sorry you were not able to join us for supper but it was fun to see you out there, in difficult conditions, holding your own.

Goleta had some niced fish but the weed in the water made it tough to work a long casts. 3hrs and 5 BSP the largest just over 12"  most in the 8 to 10 range.    Nice day no!   LEW

Lew,

It was too hot. I did not fish Monday but Rocky and Brian did. They roasted for two fish at Santa Clause.
They should have gone to the north pole to see Santa.
