Santa Ynez Carp
Apr 10th, 2010, 9:49pm

I've been aching to do some fishing up at the Santa Ynez for months now so I went up there to see if there were any bass or sunfish willing to take a fly. There weren't yet but there are plenty of carp so I went after one of those.

I only had my 3wt. so when I hooked in I had to be careful because the rod was bent double. I also left my net at home so I had a tough time landing the fish but eventually he came in.

The water's pretty warm -- I'd say between 60 and 70 so i would imagine the warm water fish will be in within a month or two
