No Motor Fishing Tournament
Aug 11th, 2009, 9:19pm

There will be a saltwater fishing tournament held on Sept 26th in Carpinteria. It's open to all kinds of fishing and will have some really good prizes. You can fish from shore or from a boat as long as you don't have a motor. It's called the "No Motor Tournament." I hear Abel is donating a fly reel, Force Fin is donating float tub fins and there will be other prizes including a new kayak. The details and entry form is here:

Who's going to enter?  Smiley

Just a little update on the "No Motor Tournament"

The boundaries for the tournament will be from the rock pile south of Loon Pt. to Ash St. in Carp., and extend out about 1 mile. Roughly 2 square miles of area to fish (including the beach).

We are looking for any volunteers to help on the beach, (measuring fish), or with registration. Please contact Eric at The artful Angler if you would like to help. (805) 566-5900.

Joe mentioned there will be plenty of cool prizes, in fact the list of prizes is growing. We will be selling raffle tickets for prizes, and if you register by the 10th, you will receive 5 free tickets for the raffle. There will be a BBQ after the Tournament with an awards ceremony.

The other thing I wanted to mention is this is open to all fishing, not just Fly fishing, but it would be nice to get as many fly casters as possible. I'd love to see a Flyfisher win it all!!

Thanks,

For those interested in the tournament, the web site has been updated with the latest information on prizes, raffles and a boundary map.
