Kaweah River, South Fork
May 26th, 2009, 9:33pm

Just got back from a 4 day trip to South Fork campground outside of Three Rivers. The whole area, including the Marble Fork and Middle Fork were raging. We tried out luck wherever we could find something that wasn't white water. Anyways, we hooked a few small natives (two at one time on a double nymph rig!) and that was good enough. Other than that, bears, rattlesnakes and all the other great wildlife made the trip memorable for my 9 year old daughter and me.

If you are gonna go - try Buz's Fly shop in Bako (the Visalia one closed) for reference but wait at least a few weeks for the water to slow unless you go above Lodgepole.
