Changes in stocking
May 16th, 2009, 7:05pm

As EIR studies are completed in certain areas fish planting policy can change. Some places may go back on the planting list and others may be removed. In fact, there have been some changes in our area:

Lion Canyon Creek in Santa Barbara County will no longer be stocked.

In Ventura County, Rose Valley lakes will no longer be stocked.

Santa Ynez River (Santa Barbara County) will no longer be stocked.

However,

Santa Margarita Lake in San Luis Obispo County will be stocked again, although that probably won't be until next year as they only plant trout there in Winter months.

No changes for the Santa Ynez or Cachuma, they are both still on the "Will be planted" list.

Note that the Santa Ynez River has been added to the no stock list.  Sad

Is that the final word or is there a possibility for them to revoke that?

I think this is a reflection on where they are stocking rather than an environmental report or decision. It's procedural. I think we have more to worry about like whether they will raise fish next year at all.         LEW
