Mosquito Lagoon/Indian river

Took a quick trip in March down to Titusville, Fla, hoping to get in on some cobia on the fly rod. Wind was blowing too hard to get out on the ocean, so the guide took us to Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon. Sight fishing was tough with the wind and the clouds, but we did find a school of small black drum. I managed to pull one out of the school before they blew up.

Also landed my first snook, but it was pretty darn small as far as snook go.

Coolest thing may have been seeing the shuttle take off. We saw lots of missles go up from Vandenberg when I was a kid, but the shuttle was pretty special.

Nice Drum.  I have never latched on to one of those.

That is an east coast experience.

That was a nice trout in the freshwater report as well !!!

Well since we are sharing fish porn here is a picture of a broomtail grouper that I caught last week in an estero in northern Magdalena Bay, Baja Sur.  Chris Fischer was along with Rich Hall and Gary Bulla who hosted it.

That is a much prettier looking fish than my black drum. In the world of fish porn, you got a playmate. I got an ugly fish. Bet they were both fun to catch though.
