Surf report - 10/8/08
Oct 9th, 2008, 8:20pm

This week the water was clearer but the tide movement was practically nill with high tide all day. The perch were not as willing as last week but we still managed to get some. Here's Rick Hafele with one of the many "hand sized" ones he caught.

That looks like fun. keep posting. I got 9 months til I get out there and pictures of fish -- even if I am not catching them -- will keep me dreaming.

Are you catching those fish in front of the waves or on the backside of the breakers?

I use to fish for perch from the beach at Jalama, Surf and Pismo. I don't remember if we were casting beyond the breakers but I do remember we were heaving the heck out of those bottom rigs.

No need to cast beyond the breakers.
