Ellwood and Goleta Beach
Feb 11th, 2008, 9:50pm

I fished Ellwood Beach Sunday afternoon.  The beach was stripped bare of sand and the waves were just at the stage of being fish-able, meaning the waves were big on some sets.  The current was running north at a fast pace.  By the time I stripped in my line I was parallel with the beach.... going north.

I did not get any fish.

I went down to Goleta Beach in frustration.  The beach was filled in with sand and there were small waves.  It looked soooooo fishy.  I fished from the parking lot past the slough outlet.  No fish.  By then it was dark.  I kept fishing until I got a bad tangle in my sink tip.  In the dark I could not work it out so I called it a day.

Beautiful day.  Small waves.  Good sand.  Birds working the water.  Me....I caught some kelp.

Keep 'em tight, boys.
