Any reports from Margarita lately? I actually have a weekend with nothing to do.

Taxes!  Shocked Your no fun Lew!

Fishstick, just talked to a friend from San Luis about maybe heading up there next week and doing some kickboating. I'll let you know if I go up. Shoud be good for the trout. The bass won't get going until the weather warms up the water a bit. The crappie should start up soon, they get pretty big in that lake.

Oh, by the way, talked to my friends from Kern River Troutfitters; the big trout have started to show. One caught an 8 lb the other day. I may head up there this week.

Called the marina at Margarita this afternoon. Bass reports are coming in; however, the fish are deep (25ft). Some trout being taken close to the surface. Large fish, but low numbers.

We get some warm days and they'll be in 8' before you know it, which is great for fly fishing with a full sink line. Of course, 25' isn't out of reach. You just got to give it a minute or so to sink. Sometimes they hit it on the way down. Most of the trout I've caught at Margarita have been deep. I fish with a full sink there except when I'm throwing poppers to bass.

I'll be heading up to the Kern tonight, pretty soon actually. Gotta get me some of those big trout!  Smiley
