Santa Margarita Report
Jun 11th, 2006, 4:16pm

According to sources along the bank of Santa Margarita, the bite is hot for bluegill, redear, crappie and bass.

Of course, I am unable to confirm that report from my trip to the lake this morning. I made the 2 hour drive from Santa Ynez and after inflating the tube, I realized that I left my reel case at home.  embarrassed

Oh well, Fathers day is next weekend and I can't think of a better way to spend it than floating Santa Margarita.......reels included.

Hi pvefisherman8 and welcome  Smiley

Hawaiianhillbilly posted some reports over in the "Fly Fishing" general section. He did well two weeks ago, not too well last week. I'll bet he goes again this weekend and posts.

I myself have been wanting to get up there. My favorite patterns in Margarita are the olive wooly bugger, olive zonker, white clousers and white whistlers with olive hackle. Small, flashy wooly buggers work well for the blugill.
