SY 5/7

Picked up two this morning. A hatch started around 0930 and trout were working the surface all around me. They were very selective and I had nothing in my box that matched the hatch. Frustrating experience, but still a good morning. I've got some flies to dress tonight.

Were they small BWO?

We were up there with the kids from the Academy and I saw a few around noon. I posted some pics.

We put they kids on a good stretch and most all caught fish. I'm happy to say it was a good day for the kids. Some bait fisherman moved in after we left so I don't know how many have been taken out but the DFG had the river well stocked.

Perfect!  I'm going to head up this Friday to give it a try.  First time after 10 years in SB.  Is it better above the 2nd crossing or somewhat hit or miss on finding the fish.  Also, are there any resources for finding out stocking schedules?

They stock at the crossings and day use areas but some of the fish "escape" the harvesting fisherman and move up or down from there. Hiking can help.

Stocking schedules are posted on the DFG site at:
