It was well worth going for sure. Went down Sunday and I did two seminars one with Ken Hanley on makng videos and then  Brain O'Keefe on taking better pictures.  Both these guys do some of the best visual art for fly fishing these days and the best thing about them is that they do it without expensive equipment and crews but rather approach the task with the passion they have for fly fishing.  The result is that universal product high in quality that captures the same sort of character as a custom tied fly or rod and all about what the rod builder and author  Jerry Kutstich relates as breif fleeting momments of lasting significance.... a  little joy and insight  in the pain of taxes for me. Not to mention the company friends and aquantancies sharing in the joy of being there.
Do you come to realizations such as this by going fishing? Most likely and that's why we go fishing I hope.  But then there events like these that come along and just like going fishing sometimes don't work out as expected but worth a shot.  As long as you don't set yourself up to be disappointed and go looking for the true quality to be had this fly fishing stuff can't be all that bad; and you can find some the best of what is to be had reflected at expos such as these.
Consider this event next year. And thanks to Ken and Company  at the Spot for putting it on.  LEW
