Title: Kern River area report
Post by Forum Admin on Oct 28th, 2011, 12:02pm

This week the fishing continues to be excellent. An interesting find is I've been catching a lot of wild fish. The river is showing some healthy looking fish in the 4" and 5" range and some in the 8" range this may indicate two spawns because of the long consistent higher flows this year.

Other than the wild fish, the average size fish this week has been about 15"

Lake Isabella is also showing a lot of small bass in two size ranges. The water level in the lake held high for a long time because of the steady higher than normal flows and the Bass may have had two spawning sessions or there is good number of larger bass spawning. The high number of small bass indicate successful spawning.

Good water = good fishing!
