Title: 4 wt 9' fly rods
Post by marklsell on Nov 3rd, 2010, 1:44pm

Ive been comparing Cabelas L tech w/ a Lamson Konic reel combo to a TFO Professional set up the same way.The L-tech comes in $20 less both have good reviews.Anyone have any input on either set up?

Hey hows it goin, I have fished neither of these specific rods but I do have a TFO finesse 8'6" 3 wt and really like it. I will probably get hammered for saying this but have you checked with local fly shops. There you can usually test cast rods and decide based on how you like them personally and not the opinions of others. I know Cabelas has good prices but usually a fly shop will set it up for you and sometimes throw in free backing or other stuff to cover a slightly higher price.  Just my $0.02. Good Luck with your choice.

Good point Ryan about using a fly shop...our local one is Artful Angler down the road at Santa Claus lane just north(west ) of Carpinteria.  Eric my even have some TFO rods to try.  LEW
