Title: The Kern is fishing well!
Post by Forum Admin on Aug 27th, 2010, 3:01pm

I've been up here at the Kern helping out at the shop and took some time to check out current fishing conditions. The river is low and clear (about 300 flow right now) which means all the fish they have been stocking all year through the high water are concentrated and there are plenty of them! Everywhere I fished on the 20 mile stretch has a lot of fish. I caught wild fish, stockers and big fish. Here's a few samples:
Proof you can even catch wild fish on Kern Candy.
Plenty of nice size stockers to keep you busy.
and, there is always the big ones to make things really interesting.

I caught some wild fish, a lot of stockers and several 19" to 21" fish. The river is fishing great right now, although with the hot weather I'm only fishing early and late.

Ah yes.....the mellowed days of late summer.   Thanks for reminding  us that we should be fishing the Kern right now!         LEW
