Title: The beach with the Abel Tour group
Post by Forum Admin on Mar 21st, 2009, 9:44pm

After today's tour at the Abel Reel facility, many of the visitors and people from Abel came down to the beach in Carpinteria to try out some surf fishing with Abel reels. Here's some pictures:

The sky was gray but the surf was very hospitable:

A nice perch:

A nice Corbina:

... and possibly a world record: smallest Corbina ever caught on a fly!

A good time was had by all!

It was fun, it was real,....it was REEL* fun.   I still have the traces of cutting oil in my nostrils from the tour of the Abel factory. What a class operation and fun group of folks right in our back yard.
Marky J and myself wandered all the way down to the Carp slough mouth and back. Mark got snagged up on some decent leopard sharks and pulled a couple of nice momma perch out of a hole. I managed several smaller perch.   A somber grey day but one for REEL fun ideas to be bantered  about.   LEW
