Title: Happy Canyon/Cachuma Creek
Post by BHelton on Mar 4th, 2006, 1:48pm

Hey all.
Just got back from a day trip to happy canyon.  The water was cold and flowing well, perfect conditions.  There were also fish, but alas, my wife and I were skunked.  The fish were active, but not feeding.  My opinion is that they were stocked recently and are just now coming out of shock, but not yet feeding.  I threw everything in my vest at them, but they wouldn't bite a thing, didn't even get a bump.  Seemed they were interested in their territories rather than eating.  In any event the weather was perfect and the fishing should have been good, I'm excited to be able to take my next trip.  By the way, it was Saturday morning and we were the only two up there fishing.  Two guys did ask about the fishing as we were leaving, but that was it.  Fish on!
